Good question! The answer is that because many sitcoms span more than one decade, (last of the summer wine, for example started in the early 70's) i have decided to put them into the decade that most people think of the sitcom from.
Hopefully most people think of Steptoe as being a 70's show, i always think of last of the summer wine being a 80's show for some reason! Cheesy

As the most broadcast episodes are from 1972 then it's probably best.  Of course it ran as said until 74, but then in steady increments kept coming back in short burts until 1981, just not as regular episodes.
There was a new series planned for 1983, but Corbett's death put a stop to it.  I see it as a 60s and 70s sitcom, they did 4 years in each decade so it has to be placed somewhere I guess.

Harry  -I know, I discuss their relationship as it REALLY WAS (as you know they worked well together) on my site, and I point out the blatant lies which were told in those programs.  It's all on there.   I am working on an alternative documentary at the moment, which should be completed in 6 months or so, which tells what we know to be the real story, that they were gentlemen who worked well together. A broadcast date has not yet been approved but we are still in pre production stage.

Do you have a links page on your site?  I'd be happy to link to you if you link to me!!

I just loved the bit about Daft Ada, the terror of the Galaxy... Cheesy

A most interesting and most entertaining reading, Harry, and what a fascinating world it is... I've been a monkey smoking a pipe myself, just once, and enjoyed it immensely... AND got 50 quid plus a nice fish meal into the bargain (it was a restaurant scene, luckily Wink)
