So, the first episode has aired and from some of the comments i've seen on the net, it wasn't that well recieved. That suprises me a bit as i thought that it wasn't too bad at all, the only thing that troubled me a bit was that some of the characters wern't quite "right" Kryton seemed almost to have been forgotten in the first episode, he didnt have much to do at all, and Chris Barrie seemed to struggle a bit getting back into his character but the cat played a blinder, he seemed to be much more like he was in the earlier days and more catlike.
Overall though, i enjoyed it and looking forwards to the next couple of episodes.

BTW, i've also heard a whisper that they may also do a christmas special too Smiley

i dont want to leave any spoilers but the second episode was bizarre to say the least but by the end of the third it was all explained and certainally left me wanting to see more of the boys from the dwarf!

No, no, don't you see? This was the Closure the show needed, I've been ranting about "good" and "bad" ways to end a series in the past, and this fares among the best to me!

First episode didn't impress me much, except in a rather depressing way, everybody looked old and tired (except the Cat, you're on the spot there, he's brilliant from the go), but it was just a slow start, and with episode 2 everything started to get together and make sense, bizarre if you want but that's "real" Red Dwarf, after all, and never mind the "Return of the Son of the Revenge of Blade Runner" theme, a bit more than just a hommage to this inspirational movie perhaps Wink, but that made sense, too, in the end, because there has to be one.

I found this even moving, at times, take Lister with the two kids in the bus for instance, or Rimmer's plea to the Author for a better second chance (these are not real spoilers, rather teasers, right? Smiley).

And there are even realistic bits, the scene in the video-shop and the comment abut the shop assistant...

"He's through the 4rth tub of penis enlargement cream"...

I just met one like that, while trying to buy a new DVD player for my mum, it's amazing how they breed fast and wide, innit? Blithering shop assistants I mean, not mums... Cheesy

And, of course, fun throughout, as you'd expect, here's Lister after meeting Craig Charles...

"That's no way to make a living, pretending to be someone else all the time... smeghead!"

In the end, because there has to be one, some might agree with Kryten that it's all "Multiverse 101" but I, for one, loved it! Cheesy

Don't think there should be more, though...

Smiley strange how tastes differ isn't it? i thought that the second episode was the weakest of the lot, I really enjoyed the third episode. I also suspect that they'll be back, the latest i've heard is that they'll be making more if the DVD sales are strong enough. Hopefully they will be, it was DVD sales that got the Peep Show recomissioned.

Also wasn't Simon Gregson good? i've been noticing his comedy turns in Coronation Street (Especially when he discovered who his mum was dating) and often thought after that that he would be good in a true comedy.
