Captain Keene: [news of the native revolt arrives] What do you intend to do, sir?
Sir Sidney Ruff-Diamond: Do? Do? We're British. We won't do anything...
Major Shorthouse: …until it's too late.
Sir Sidney Ruff-Diamond: Exactly. That's the first sensible thing you've said all day.

I want to be Frank Gallagher when I grow up... eventually... Grin

The most exciting thing to happen in British TV for years, imho, Shameless requires a seriously broad mind from both the audience and the writers, to keep that delicate balance between drama and comedy working.

So far so good, it actually keeps getting better and better as seasons go...

Cheers!

And I still stand for that!

3 episodes into series 6, and I can't wait for tuesday night to come (or rather wednesday morning, in my case Wink)

Still brilliant, still unmissable, and with a cast of thousands they can even afford losing the odd main character every now and then, which doesn't mean I won't miss Ian, after many others, but that's the way it works, and it works fine!

Yesterday's episode 3 was a bit unusual in that it left little space for drama, while comedy was in full swing.

Mickey and Carrie were just... well, rolling on the floor laughing, really, how odd can it get? Grin

And Frank's drunken ramblings are alarmingly making more and more sense, it's a bit of a guilty feeling, like finding yourself agreeing with Jeremy Clarkson, and then having to wash your brain with soap... Grin

Of course, Frank Gallagher on an average day makes more sense than Jeremy Clarkson anyway, that was just per absurdum... Wink

Well, I guess it would take a bit of an effort to start, this stuff should be watched from the beginning, ideally, and the first 2 seasons are not the best ones, imho.

Also, let's keep in mind this is not just for laughs, although they abound, no worries there, but the disfunctional Gallagher family is not treated lightly. I might describe this, if hard pressed for concision, as Ken Loach meets the Young Ones... Grin
