Anyone catch it on UK Gold? It was the one filmed in front of the Queen and included a bit of behind the scenes stuff. It was quite fun seeing the audience in tails and gowns, i bet they wouldn't be dressed like that today, even if the Queen was there!

Ive seen this.  The BBC have repeated it without the extra royal footgae several times, so when I saw it all together the first time I never realised which episode it was!!   I wonder if there was the full experience for her Madge or whether they were all on their best behaviour, not forgetting lines etc...  it was interesting footage.

A bit of confusion here-

The Xmas special was actually the episode-Silly,but its fun.  (Margo & jerry's xmas came in a van,she sent it all back on xmas eve because the tree was a few inches shorter than what she'd ordered!)
Was the episode filmed in front of the queen a xmas special or another celebratory event?

Good question, the episode itself didnt mention christmas or anything - i assumed it was the chirstmas episode because UK gold said it was.
I've just looked on wikipedia and it seems it was actually the last episode

The final one-off episode, "When I'm Sixty-Five", was a Royal Command Performance in front of The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh and senior BBC management. The cast and crew were presented to The Queen and Prince Philip after the recording. The episode was originally broadcast in a 45-minute slot with footage either side of the 30-minute episode showing the Royal Party entering and exiting.

I believe this was the last episode, xmas or not...   I remember seeing it on new year, maybe it was a new year special..  as long as britains most disfunctional family of unemployed people has something to do, who cares?  Queen of Aus and Canada?  sod you, you bloody pay for her!
