Not really sitcom news (although he did appear in a few) but Dr Who's Nicholas Courtney (Brigadier Alistair Lethbridge-Stewart) died today. Link

We were all saddened over here to hear the news of his passing that day. As a pair of inveterate Whovians, my husband and I helped to put on the Gallifrey One Doctor Who convention back in its early years, and Nicholas was so kind to all the fans. He and Jon Pertwee were my personal favorites out of all the Doctor Who actors we brought over. Such gentlemen, and they gave so freely of their time and talent. Jon, in particular, performed his two-hour long solo cabaret act, which I wish to this day we had on film, he was so brilliant. Before the show he came around to every table (dinner was served before the show) and chatted with every fan. Nicholas once performed a parody of The Yellow-Eyed Idol of Katmandu with a prominent fan. It was titled The Slightly Off-White Idol of Dogmandu, and was very funny. We won't see the like of these gentlemen again soon.
