I woke up this morning to over 190 spam messages and after taking 2 hours removing them i decided to add some more anti-spam protection. Of cause, me being me, i managed to break everything. A few more hours later, i've managed to add the anti-spam and i *think* i have got everything back to how it was but if i haven't or missed anything then please make a note of it below and i'll look into it.

Spam is a problem for everybody. It was surprising how spam-free this place was before. Well done.
You do a good job with this forum, they're always going to get through I guess.
I'm also one of those who tries to fix something and ends up breaking it more, so I know how you feel. The contact form on both my websites stopped working after simple updates. Took me a month to get one working again - for some reason what I did before no longer worked, and the other one still refuses, though everything is the same as the now working one!
Bloody computers!

yeah, the spam scripts found this site a while back, noticable by the amount of "silly" names joining using throwaway email accounts but for some reason they didn't make posts until this week. Hopefully the new captcha measures at sign up will stop them from even registering from now on.
But i royally mucked up classicsitcoms for a while yesterday. everything and i mean everything was broke. from the CSS, the URLs and even user permissions. i mucked it up so bad that i even considered scrapping the current forum and changing it over to a different forum script. Luckily, a desperation last-ditch attempt at getting something (anything!) working got the URLs back and i was able to go from there but it was brown trouser time for a bit.

Well, Rogue, apart from the short blackout the other day, the main consequence, for me at least, is that I can now see again the sidebar with the latest posts box which had disappeared months ago... So, whatever you did, you did well, mate, ta very much!
