What theme tunes stick in your mind? For me, Sorry! is a noticable them tune simply because it is so inappropriate for the sitcom (same with the opening graphics), the american sitcom Taxi is memorable for its haunting tune, And the theme of Are You Being Served is a good one becuae its a jaunty tune.

"Stick a pony in me pocket..." When you know all the lyrics by heart I guess that means the song really made a lasting impression Well, I'll have to admit that having watched (not entirely, though!) a full 5-seasons weekend rerun of OFAH on the sat channel BBC Prime only a coupla weeks ago, the impression might also have seriously damaged my brain... for days afterwards I woke up in the mornings with the darn thing in my mind, and kept half muttering it under my breath through the day... I also quite like Eric Idle's "One Foot in the Grave" theme song. Cheers!

Oh, I was forgetting...
Not a theme tune/song, actually, but there's an unforgettable musical moment, again in "One Foot in the Grave", and again written and sung by Eric Idle, the traffic jam episode, when the car mechanics choir erupts from the car stereo...
"There's a bloke we can't stand any longer, always on the bleedin' moan... Every time we fix his bloody Honda, he's back grousing on the phone... ... Victor Meldrew, Victor Meldrew, he can stick it up his bum (up his bum), he can bugger off to kingdom come!"
Marvellous, innit? Not just the song or the lyrics, mind you, it's the whole situation, the petrified faces of the actors throughout the song (I wonder how they could keep a straight face there...), and Mrs. Warboys final comment...
"They hold a note rather well... for car mechanics..."
This stuff was tear-jerking, and rolling on the floor an' all that...
[Spoiler Alert]
I strongly resent the killing of Victor Meldrew... but this is probably a matter for another thread...

And me... Now, let me see... "David Bowie's tracksuits, Kevin Keegan's LPs..." I think I'm beginning to forget... time for another rerun?

The Steptoe theme tune-"old Ned" is a memorable tune,i currently have it as my mobile ringtone, when it rings it usually generates a smile from people nearby.......... another classic is the Dads army theme.........
