The worst thing about badly named files is when you've spent ages downloading them and some so-and-so has named them wrongly...

Gomez, I replied to your message, but not sure if you got it as my computer crashed out as I pressed send...

Karl, back on topic, what did you think oh Hancock in the "The Government Inspector" DVD I sent you?  In my understanding it was a very different role for Hnacock, I believe he did very little straight acting like that.  All I know about it is what I've read in Wilfrid Brambell's book.  What did you make of it?  Sorry the quality isn't perfect!

Well, I believe people who made those compilations meant well, it's not easy to identify untitled radio shows by the plot alone...

Although I wonder how "The Student Prince" could be mistaken for "The Hancock Festival", but then again, we don't have, to the best of my knowledge, even plot synopses for the missing episodes, not in much detail, at least.

Got your message, Phil, and replied. There seems to be something not altogether right with Personal Messages, however, as I already noticed all PMs I received are stored, but none I sent show up in the summary.

And I guess that "Government Inspector" would be another take on Gogol's novella "The Inspector General", of which I've only seen the musical adaptation with Danny Kaye, ages ago.

Yes, it was a 1958 adaptation, one of hancock's few straight roles.  It was a tv special which also featured Wilfrid Brambell as a post man who opens all the letters!!  It is indeed from Gogol's tale.

Outward-bound message are not saved by default, you have to click the little box at the bottom of the PM page before you click on "Send".

It would be great if some of the "missing" episodes turned up,i've got all of the available radio shows,i don't bother with the TV soundtracks they put out on disc though.................
