Whats your views on Carla Lane's sitcoms? UK Gold are showing some of her works (Butterflys, Bread, Solo) and i always end up feeling like i have sat through a 30 minute long lecture. Sometimes it's hard to think that she also wrote Bless This House episodes too.

Hi rogue, The only one I recognise from those three is Bread. I remember enjoying that, but I really would have to watch it again to see if that was still the case as I am discovering that my taste has changed a lot over the years. I'll report back

I liked some episodes of 'Bread', but it went on far too long. By the time it ended most of the characters were being played by different people and it simply relied on catchphrases. I think there are a dozen or so really good episodes, the rest have no significance to me.

Butterflies was very good,Geoffrey Palmer's character Ben was the star for me,hilarious!!
