I didnt expect this one! It's time to dust off your Christian Lacroix - Absolutely Fabulous is set to return for a brand new series.
Joanna Lumley and Jennifer Saunders will return as infamous Patsy and Edina for a three-episode run of the hit show after a six-year hiatus.
Filming is scheduled to begin this summer, and although Saunders is yet to write the script, partner-in-crime Lumley couldn't be more excited.
Speaking to the Daily Mail she revealed: "In late August I start filming on three episodes of Absolutely Fabulous, which we are all ecstatic about.

I wish there could be a show mentioned here where I say "I love that" but again this is one of those I can't watch - for one reason only - Jennifer Saunders. I can not stand her on-screen persona in anything she does.
However, I know several people who have met her who say she is a lovely, wonderful woman (and I wish her all the best with her recent cancer scare) but there is just something about her I dont quite get.
But the show is very popular and I always say, if it's popular it must be good, eevn if I dont like it myself.

Jennifer does play annoying characters. It's easy to prefer Dawn French in their many partnerships, and even Joanna Lumley in AbFab, if only because she's so hysterically out of it. But I admire Jennifer because she is a big creative talent and as a writer she is every bit as prolific as the best of the male comics of her era (Rik Mayall, Rowan Atkinson, etc.). Her output is prodigious. My husband and I just finished watching the 6 episodes of Let Them Eat Cake that she wrote. Maybe not to everyone's taste, but she pulled no punches and that show was every bit as raunchy as Bottom. She is also very generous in her writing and seems to give a lot of the best lines to her co-stars. That collaborative spirit is something I admire as well. She is not my favorite actress, but I do feel that she is the engine behind a lot of very good work and without her we wouldn't have any of it.
