A British family is to be immortalised in the form of a comedy cartoon series, in an innovative new TV comedy format.

Funny Families, which is the working title for the project, will see an ordinary British family transformed into an animated sitcom.

Producers say: "For the first time in TV history we are on the hunt for a real family to turn into a major new series. Simpsons and Family Guy step aside!"
