An absoulte classic. Featuring Inspector Morse and the ginger boy. I used to love watching this after swimming club while eating a pancake and a biscuit and cheese. Remember when the ginger boy tried to sneak a girl in to the house? Any one remember?

I've only just found this thread.... this is a great show.. it has obvious strains of "Steptoe" in the father / son relationship, but presented differently, what's great is how the relationship develops and in the final eposide where Matthew leaves for uni, the dad is actually going to miss him and cares for him. Well acted, well written and the first series with the added joy of Elizabeth Bennett as the nosey housekeeper.. fantastic show!!!
