Well, here's a curiosity for you folks...

Just a coincidence, I recently came by an old (1964) episode of Eric Sykes' series, "Sykes and A Following", which with a bit of hindsight could be aptly retitled "Off the Buses", because that's where the bus company tries to get Eric and Hattie all the time Cheesy

Of course you can't quite compare the characters, Eric Sykes as the driver and Hattie Jacques as the clippie don't have much in common with Stan and Jack, but I can't help wondering whether this short might have been part of the inspiration for the ambientation of "On the Buses" a few years later.

Just a thought.

may have had something to do with it gomez, but the main reason was the ronnies based it upon quoted:  'their own working class roots'.

good luck with it. especially with ITV4 showing a lot of On The Buses repeats at the moment, it should be a successful day.

Let us know how it went, including pics Smiley
