I understand Acorn media are set to release 10 episodes of the 60's comedy "Citizen James"(Sid James,Bill Kerr) on DVD,I'm led to believe there were 32 shows made originally, lets hope they've got 'em all! Relese date is 6th Feb 2012.

Sounds great but i think i'll wait for a box set.
EDIT - It seems that there are only ten episodes in existance now Sad so that would make it the box set!
You watch, i'll buy this and a lost episode will appear out of the woodwork.

Albert has a wager with Sid that he can get a date with Sid's fiancée. And at 10-1, Sid can't resist the odds

E05 - The Raffle
Sid and Bill have to organise a raffle to replace the 'Nosh Bar' Christmas money which went on Sid's gambling debts

Made-up-i-pedia is always wrong.  Do people actually believe what they read on there?  I treat it as a spoof site.

Series 2 episode 12 featured Wilfrid Brambell from Steptoe!

So, it appears Wikipedia was created for the sole purpose of diffusing false information... well, personally, I believe Wikipedia more than I believe newspapers and/or TV, at least they don't have an agenda of actual disinformation and propaganda behind...

I find Wikipedia a useful place to start researches, they're neither wrong nor right ALL the time, they make genuine mistakes, it's part and parcel of the way it works.

Another website, "Lost Shows.com", confirms only 8 episodes survive, but they're probably in cahoots with the Wikipedians in their plot to achieve world domination by telling porkies, so we shouldn't pay much attention to them.

All sources I could find about the DVD mention 10 episodes, guess we'll just have to wait for next February and see for ourselves.

Anyway, I have the same 8 episodes as listed by Rogue, the first, complete series of 6, penned by Galton & Simpson, has been "around" for a while, the other two episodes surfaced rather recently, and the quality is indeed extremely poor for all, with timecode superimposed.

I'm in for the DVD, 8 or 10 or all, it'll be better than what we've got now, I hope that, at least, is a fact...

I ocne put on wikipedia that Elvis Presley's father worked for Kelloggs and came up with the idea of cornflakes, it was up on wikipedia for 6 months.  Wiki was invented to be correct, but peopel put anything on there without any actual research - there are loads of made up facts on there!!!!

Well, some people make an effort to contribute true and tested information to what's a decent and honest project like Wikipedia, others put wrong information in there by mistake, and some do it on purpose so they can complain about everything in it being unreliable, now, that's REALLY clever, what can you say... Undecided

It was done as part of a university study - at the time every university in the country had banned wikipedia being used inr eference, and many still do.  The information was put on, and wiki informed that it had been put on specifically to see their response.  They responded, which was unexpected, but said that it was not up to them to remove things they know are false.

We were looking at the process of how these facts get in to folklore.  Out of testing 100 articles, picked at random, we discover 64% of them had fake information, not incorrect, but fake.  When we gave the results to wiki, their response was "we're surprised it's so low!".  I still have all of the original written documents from them!!  So I ambasing it on facts and on comemnts made by wiki's staff. That's what I have to say about it!!
